B'Mitzvah Overview & Resources

The B'Mitzvah experience combines the most joyous and solemn of moments among all of our rites. Welcoming young people as adults into our Jewish community enriches us all. At Temple Isaiah, our staff, clergy and families collaborate to make the experience one of deep meaning for our youth in a way that will be memorable.

Each child's journey to this moment is unique. Each family's hopes and expectations of this accomplishment are individual. Our community gathers around each child and family to help them discover all of the dimensions of B'Mitzvah that make it such a critical passage.

Preparations for the rituals of B'Mitzvah are extensive. Our educational programs are structured to ensure that children approach their special day with confidence. Every child should feel that he or she has the capability to accomplish this milestone and we encourage families who have concerns to work with the clergy and staff individually.

7th Graders must be enrolled in Religious School in order to become a B'Mitzvah at Temple Isaiah.  The expectation is that, regardless of when the date of the ceremony is, all of our 7th graders will complete the religious school year.

Below are some quick links to guides to the process.
