Bet (Grade 2)

Our Grade 2 curriculum builds upon on our Kindergarten and Grade 1 experiences as students continue to create a foundation for a lifetime of Jewish learning. Classroom learning inspires children to live Jewish lives, supported by their families and the Temple community. The joys of Torah, Mitzvot (commandments for Jewish living), holidays and Jewish community are further explored in Grade 2. More specifically, Grade 2 students engage in a multi-sensory journey as they become more familiar with Torah stories; and engage in Hebrew reading readiness by learning Hebrew letters, vowels, and basic vocabulary. Parents and students deepen the Grade 2 learning experience with family learning programs and Shabbat celebrations.
New Grade 2 students also participate in a Consecration Ceremony (in the fall), which marks the start of the students' formal Jewish education.
Grade 2 meets on Sundays (8:45 am - 10:45 or 11:00 am - 1:00pm).
