Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Have you always wanted to become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah?  Now is the time!  Join Temple Isaiah and Rabbi Jill Perlman for the two-year (Fall 2015-Spring 2017) Adult B’nai Mitzvah class.

The Adult B’nai Mitzvah class meets approximately once-a-month as a group with Rabbi Perlman and individually for Hebrew learning, as needed.  Various Hebrew instruction options are available and students are expected to read Hebrew fluently (read; not translate) by the end of the two years together.

There will also be several other get-togethers throughout the year including a Shabbat dinner.

Even though it’s very far off, it’s important to note that we have already scheduled our Shabbat service where we will celebrate the communal adult b’nai mitzvah: Saturday, May 27, 2017. Please make sure this date works for you.

There is no charge associated with the adult b’nai mitzvah class. However, there is a charge for Hebrew instruction each semester. If finances are a concern, please do not hesitate to speak to Rabbi Perlman; we have funds to support your learning, if needed. There should be no barriers to learning.

For more information please email Rabbi Perlman at rabbiperlman@templeisaiah.net or call Temple Isaiah.

On June 23, 2012, a group of ten adults became b’nai mitzvah and four candidates presented d’vrei torah.  Read the d’vrei torah presented by the following b’nai mitzvah:
