Omer Groups Kick-Off Meeting

Omer Groups Kick-Off Meeting

Tuesday, April 4, 2017 6:30 PM   -   8:30 PM
Location: Main Sanctuary

This program marks the launch of Omer Groups at Temple Isaiah. The Omer is the seven-week period from Passover to Shavuot when we reflect on the transition from freedom from Egypt to Revelation at Sinai, when we make the journey along with our ancestors from our physical redemption to our spiritual redemption. Like our regular Isaiah Together groups, those that wish to participate in this series will meet together in small groups to learn and grow, share our reflections and make new friends and deepen existing relationships. Omer Groups will be peer-led (all facilitators will be trained) and will include seven sessions, four in people's homes as well as three events connected to the Jewish calendar where all small groups will come together at Temple Isaiah. Our curriculum is being created here at Temple Isaiah in collaboration with Central Synagogue in New York City and is based on the book, Omer: A Counting by Rabbi Karen Kedar.

We are pleased to be welcoming Rabbi Karen Kedar, Senior Rabbi of B'nai Jeshoshua Beth Elohim in Deerfield, IL, here to Temple Isaiah to help us kick off our Omer Series. Rabbi Kedar is widely recognized as an inspiring leader in spiritual and personal growth - and she is a phenomenal speaker.

While all are invited and welcome to join us for Rabbi Kedar's talk, we are asking those that intend to be a part of the seven-week small group experience register in advance to help us ensure that we have enough trained facilitators and groups. Learn more and register for your Omer Group here!
