  • How do we maintain good relationships with our children and grandchildren and not let our differences divide us?
  • How does our role as grandparent evolve as our children and grandchildren change?
  • How are we shaped by our relationships with our own parents and grandparents?
  • How do we transmit our values to our grandchildren?

Winter 2020

Jewish Mindfulness & Wisdom for Parenting your Middle Schooler

Mondays: 7pm-8:30pm; January 13, 27, February 3, 10, & 24

With Rabbi Jethro Berkman of Gann Academy

Registration is Required

What resources does the Jewish tradition offer us to support and guide our children through the tween years, as they begin to stake out their independence? How can we tap into our own patience and compassion, even during our kids’ moody and rebellious times? In this course, we’ll draw on the wisdom of Jewish mindfulness and Mussar, a Jewish tradition focused on developing character strengths. Our goal will be to develop our own mindfulness and Mussar practices to help us be our best selves, and to build inner resources that will help us through the everyday challenges of parenting middle schoolers.

Note: this is not a “parenting tips” course, although we do hope it makes for better parenting. Instead it focuses on learning Jewish practices and wisdom that can help us develop as human beings and parents.

Note: There is no tuition fee for this class
